1st Feb 🌕 Magha Purnima- The Yogic Day of Inner Washing
Magha Purnima is an auspicious, energetic full moon day of spiritual cleansing. The strongest for the year. This is the day of the heart, and all sitting in the heart is up for purification. Any prayer or practice today will be amplified. In the Vedic tradition, the whole month of Magha is devoted to washing the self clean through water, mantra, simplicity, and devotion. This full moon is the completion of that cleansing. A quiet, reflective, watery, sacred day. A day to wash away: - old karma - grief - mental heaviness - emotional residue - the stories you are still carrying And to remember who you are underneath it all. 🌊 Sacred water in the morning - the heart of this day If you do only one thing, do this. In the morning, bathe consciously. Ocean, river, or your shower, it becomes sacred water today. Before stepping in, pause and say: “May this water wash away ignorance, grief, old karma, and mental impurities.” Pour water over the crown of your head 9 times. Feel what you have been carrying begin to soften and leave. 🧘🏽♀️ Mantra- cleansing the mind Napa mal, Chant 108 times: Om Namah Shivaya (purification)or Gayatri Mantra (clarity) Let the mind settle and clear. 📿 Forgiveness and release Write down: - who you are still holding - what you are still holding - the identity you are ready to let go of Tear the paper and place it in water, or burn it safely. 🥣 Simplicity in food and environment Eat lightly. Keep the day uncluttered. Wear light colours.
