What’s your signature watch?
Talking with a couple of friends the other day about watches we wear the most and what we’d consider to be our “signature” watch. For me it would have to be the Mido, it’s my default grab when I don’t know what to wear it always feels right. Do you have a signature watch? If so, what is it?

Are you collecting or accumulating
This video has had me thinking about this topic for days on end. He had me questioning the reasons behind every purchase I've made and about what I want to buy in the future. It's a long video but well worth the time. https://youtu.be/pMgE8QvmZNk?si=kjDrqBzX9AmMTKOb

Wrist Time for a Favorite
For reasons unknown, I haven’t worn this watch recently. As I’ve posted before, my three Tourneau Gothams are probably my favorites and if I could only wear three watches it would be them(with apologies to my Datejust). Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Seldom Worn Gem
This is one of the most valuable and highest quality in my collection, the Gerard Perregaux Ferrari. The watch was very expensive when I bought it in 2000 and still holds a lot of value over 25 years later. GP is an old and well respected watchmaker and their in-house movements and overall quality is still respectable in the luxury watch market. It wears small to modern chronographs so I guess that’s why I give it less wrist time. It’s still in almost new condition without a scratch.

WOTD - Fake Tudor
Today I headed out to another Car Boot Sale in search of bargains. I thought it portentous to wear my fake Tudor 1926, as I bought it at a Car Boot Sale and so today it’d serve as a cautionary example. I saw a couple of obviously fake watches (a Rolex Sea Dweller and a Patek Phillipe ladies watch). Neither of them were anything close to the standard of my fake Tudor. I also saw a nice Pagani Design Watch for £25, but I didn’t go for it as I learnt that I’m not really a homage brand collector. It just didn’t call to me. (I did see an army of fake perfumes for sale, which is always hilarious.) So, a cheap trip for me. Every day’s a school day!

I could never understand how a person who obviously can’t afford a Rolex or even more expensive luxury watch would buy a fake because nobody would actually believe that person could afford one. Makes no sense to me
