𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮 𝗞𝗮𝗵𝗹𝗼 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹, 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆. But behind that, she was dealing with some extremely heavy things. 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗶𝗻𝗷𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗲'𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮 𝗯𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗻, 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗗𝗶𝗲𝗴𝗼 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 to say the very least . 😬 🌹🌹🌹 We know her through her paintings. Precise. Detailed. Realistic. Every mark considered. Her diary is nothing like that. It's fast, loose, and full of movement. 𝗦𝗵𝗲'𝘀 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗰𝗲. That's why I don't really think of it as a diary. I think of it as a sketchbook journal. It's a space to process, not to perform. 🌹🌹🌹 This book is honestly one of the things that pulled me back into keeping my own sketchbook journal. Seeing someone with that level of skill let go of precision and just capture life instead gave me permission to do the same. Just get everything out onto the page without stressing about it.
