Hi,✌ it's me the new calorie tracker with horrible sleep schedule (and sugar divorce) I'm off apps for tracking i need to do it old school So it's ramadan here and the kitchen is no more safe place , it's already a war zone with less authority access (mom:0% authority) I had to make big meals, i can't just made one meal with needed calories just for me (that's was easy but not right) So i was trying to remake our food system so it clicks with my healthy habits so no more than half spoon oil in the pot 😠 and it's going to be chicken no meat And the Big plate salade is for me😎 everyone can have the small one🙂 Now i have a big pot with i dunno over 2000 calories and that's just the soup 🙈 i want to have a habit of a complete meal like small amount of everything so i can maintain my nutrition and diet at the same time So soup and plate where i add chicken and the Big plate of salad and the hall source of water🙃 and it's getting tiring bc the only exercise I'm doing is walking and it's not enough yet.... So how you guys track calories of big meals 🙂? Oh by the way my calories deficit is 1300 🌸

What app are you using to track? I can help guide you with preparing larger quantities. It gets tricky because I cook for my family too.
Start Building Systems
Hey everyone, this is Coach Aaron. Most people think fat loss or muscle gain comes down to one thing: motivation. It feels powerful in the moment, but motivation is also wildly unreliable. It disappears the moment life gets busy, stressful, or inconvenient. The people who make the most progress in fitness usually aren’t the most motivated. They’re the ones who built simple systems that work even on average days. A few examples I see work really well: Keep 4-5 “default meals” in rotation for the week that you already know the calories and macros for. Pick a protein-heavy meal you eat almost every day so you’re not reinventing breakfast or lunch constantly. The protein will keep you full throughout the day. Have a minimum movement rule for busy days. Maybe it’s a 20-minute walk after eating, 5k steps, or one quick lift. Something that keeps the habit alive even when the day gets chaotic. What behaviors have you implemented when life gets busy?

Back to the dumbbells for now...
I was at work when my dad texted me. When he texts me during work hours, it's usually some kind of update - like he bought something and where to find it when I get home, etc. I was not expecting this: he was using our cable machine, but the machine said nope and the cable just snapped. Thankfully he was not hurt in any way. He's put in an order for new cables - at least 1 week of waiting for the order. I was just starting to get excited to use the machine more often - is this a sign from the universe about something? A test of patience? 🫠 Back to the dumbbells for now, it is. 🥹

@Octavia Teo the universe is telling you nope not today. You need to find an alternative workout for strength. Back to DB and you got this. Sometimes change for a bit is good 😂. You got this my sweet girl.
😴💪 Sleep > Grind?! Angry Diva Learned a Lesson Today…
Those who know me know I’m currently on a sleep challenge. Every week I have a 1:1 check-in with my F45 coach, and during our last conversation he hit me with a question that made my brain short-circuit a little. He asked: “If I told you that you could only work out 3 days a week… what would your response be?” My inner voice immediately went: EXCUSE ME?! ONLY 3?! Angry Diva was not emotionally ready for that conversation. 😂 But I sat with it and reflected. So this week I tried something different: ✔️ Focused on sleep (7 hrs a night) ✔️ Took TWO recovery days ✔️ Actually listened to my body instead of fighting it This morning I walked into the gym at 6AM fully charged. Pre-workout fuel: 🥣 Fruity protein cereal 🥛 Fairlife protein milk Then I hit one of my harder strength programs with chest press, single arm DB rows, and shoulder work. I decided today was the day to really test progressive overload. And guess what happened… 🏆 2 NEW PRs • Angled Machine Leg Press ⬆️ +61.83% volume increase • Seated DB Shoulder Press ⬆️ 45 lb 5RM (+5 lbs) And yes… I even attempted 50 lb dumbbells for a rep just to see what happens. 👀 Turns out… 👉 Recovery + sleep = STRENGTH For someone like me who loves to train hard, learning to pull back so I can push harder on strength days is a big mindset shift. New strategy might be: Train smarter. Recover harder. Lift stronger. BBB community lesson of the day: Sometimes the progress isn’t from doing more… It’s from recovering better. Now I’m curious… Who else performs WAY better when sleep is dialed in?

Well skool family, days like today are when we are reminded that we are human and life sometimes has other plans for us than we have for ourselves. Got a message this morning from my dad saying my mom needed to go to the ER. She'll be having surgery tomorrow to put in a pacemaker. The registered nurse and the daughter in me battled with each other for a little while as my brain tried to figure out what I needed to do. Once I was able to get my kids on the bus and take a moment to process, I landed on dropping everything and making the drive (less than two hours, not a big deal) to go be with my parents. Before finding Darren on Instagram and everything that followed, this would be a day when stress would win, the all-or-nothing mindset would kick in in full force, and I would eat my feelings. I have a lot of feelings all the time, so when I eat them I generally feel both physically and mentally bloated as a result. But because of the way my mindset has changed over these last several months, instead, I packed a bag with some of my favorite protein and fiber rich foods. I felt like one thing I could control while worrying about my mom, was the way I treated myself. That alone is so powerful. Such a reminder that this is about so much more than weight loss. I am forever grateful to @Darren Liu , all the coaches, and everyone here. Keep doing what you're doing, because it has more of an impact than you could know. 🖤

@Kathleen Haney I am so sorry to hear about your mom my friend. Prayers for everything that your mom will be ok. I am happy to hear that your mind shift to take care of yourself where you have the control. Doing the best you can at the moment to process. Keep me posted. Sending you a big hug
