CISSP Practice Question – Network Security
A global bank is redesigning its network to strengthen incident detection and response. Management wants segmentation that will make it easier to collect logs, analyze traffic, and quickly isolate affected systems if a breach occurs. Which network segmentation approach would provide the MOST effective support for these goals? A. Divide networks according to data classification levels, with tightly controlled communication paths between segments. B. Create a dedicated logging network that can directly access all other segments. C. Segment networks based primarily on the physical locations of offices and branches. D. Use micro segmentation to strictly isolate every segment, preventing nearly all inter-segment communication.
