Time to reset - looking for motivation
Hi folks I’ve focused on other projects and some personal commitments this last 6 months. I’m looking to pick up my coaching after completing my EC earlier this year. What has helped you stay motivated?

@Aubin Katuku good to hear that, I've taken care of myself and family commitments in 2025 and I'm on track to pick up my other projects which includes coaching.
No time to grow your coaching business?
I have a friend who swears she has "no time" to grow her coaching business. Claims she's way too busy... So the other day, I asked her to walk me through her daily schedule. She wakes up at 9:30am. Does one yoga class. Plays a bit of chess. That's pretty much her entire day 😅 Yet she's "far too busy" to create content, do outreach, or talk to prospects. Here's the truth... Your average person (yes, even coaches) has 3-4 hours per day where they do absolutely NOTHING. Between scrolling... "Thinking about thinking about doing the thing"... And getting caught in social media cycles that waste 20+ minutes at a time... Most coaches are letting huge chunks of their day slip away. I've caught myself doing it too. Like when I go to post a simple link, get sucked into the social media vortex, and 20 minutes later... I've completely forgotten what I was meant to do in the first place. And that's just ONE example of how you lose 20 minutes. Now multiply that throughout your day... Your week... Your YEAR. The hard truth is - it's not that you don't have time to build your coaching business. You just have false limitations around time availability. Think about it: The coaches with the least client load often complain about being the busiest. Meanwhile, the most successful coaches somehow "find time" to consistently create, sell, and deliver. The difference? They don't create artificial time constraints. They don't let themselves live in that reality. So next time you catch yourself saying "I don't have time to grow my business"... Ask yourself what you're REALLY doing with those hours. The answer might surprise you.

Weird way coaches can get good at sales
Had an interesting coaching call yesterday... One of my clients was struggling with sales. But here's the weird part... We ended up talking about relationships instead. Why? Because sales are EXACTLY like relationships. Here's what I mean... Imagine walking up to someone on a first date and asking: “So...are we gonna get married or what?” You’d run a mile Yet that's what most coaches do on sales calls. They show up basically saying: “It's 2 grand. If you're wasting my time, tell me now…” And then wonder why prospects run for the hills. Truth is... Whether it's love or business... The moment you start obsessing over the "outcome"... Is the moment you kill your chances of getting it. Instead, focus entirely on: * Making sure you're connected * Being truthful * Allowing vulnerability * Actually enjoying the process That's what sets up your best chances. Think about your best relationships... They didn't start with someone PUSHING for commitment. They started with intrigue… connection… and trust. Same goes for sales. Remember this: The sale, like love, happens in the space between two people connecting authentically. Everything else is just desperation in disguise.

I often use the dating analogy in sales and marketing, inviting a completely cold prospect to attend an in-person event with your business is a bit like asking someone to get engaged on a first date, it helps sales folk understand the purpose of marketing. Which is to warm up the engagement and help establish a rapport on equal terms.
