What's your morning routine?
Do you have one? Does it support you in living your best life? Developing a supportive morning routine was one of the biggest game changers for me. It was part of the reason I started being able to lose excess weight, after years of trying, with very little success. The morning routine I started with was super simple... Lay in bed and listen to hypnotherapy or guided relaxation for 30-45 minutes. Allow myself to relax completely. That was it. This simple routine put me in a good head space for the rest of the day. It set me up with a positive mindset, gratitude, and openness to the blessings of life. Because it felt so good, I started incorporating guided relaxation at the end of the day too, and sometimes even in the middle of the day, if time allowed. I often incorporated prayer during this time too, since that's an important part of my day. This relaxing morning practice supported me in having balanced cortisol throughout the day. Little did I know that balancing my cortisol would help excess fat drop away from my body, with ease and little effort. I had never experienced this before! I started at 220 pounds. My goal weight was 160. I never weighed myself at home, since we didn't have a scale. A few months after I started my simple morning routine (and intermittent fasting), I weighed myself at the gym and almost fell off when I saw the number...it said 146. I thought the scale must be broken! It wasn't. I do weigh myself weekly now, because I appreciate the information I get from doing that. I share this story as inspiration about how quickly things can change for you when you get your cortisol in balance. Intermittent fasting helped me get my insulin in balance. Balancing these two hormones, insulin and cortisol, is KEY for good health and weight loss, and we talk about them quite a lot in the Release the Weight course, in the Classroom. A good morning routine can go a long way in helping us balance both insulin and cortisol!

Breaking Habits and Addictions, Sunday, 6pm MT
This powerful meditation led by Dr. Joe Dispenza will support you in breaking any bad habits that derail your progress and success. Sunday, March 8, 6 pm MT/8pm Eastern https://us06web.zoom.us/j/88973090058?pwd=Kd7ojvN3VmIL3SMbEpyiWxfwqWaCsX.1 Check-in afterwards. “The hardest part about change is not making the same choices you made the day before. A habit is a redundant set of automatic, often unconscious thoughts, behaviors and emotions that are acquired through frequent repetition. A habit is when you’ve done something so many times that your body knows how to do it better than your conscious mind. Simply said, a habit is when the body becomes the mind. This meditation is specifically designed to assist you in learning how to become free from any unwanted habit. You will learn how to become conscious of your unconscious state of mind and then consciously make different choices to lead you into a new life.”

“If YOU can do it, I can do it!”
Said my friend as we were walking along the river trail. She had been experimenting with intermittent fasting and finding joy in daily exercise and strength training. She had found a pattern that works well for her and was noticing the results, as her clothing was getting looser and the numbers on the scale were going down. Here’s looking at you, @Stacey Hopner ! My heart lit up…absolutely, that’s it! If I can do it, YOU can do it. Anyone can do it, really. She was talking about letting go of weight, naturally, and with a sense of ease instead of struggle. Here’s the thing… I’m a person who is often messy, frequently disorganized, and arguably lazy. I’d prefer to think of myself more as energy efficient than lazy- I prefer not to expend energy unless I absolutely have to. But we can debate that some other time! Not saying any of this to put myself down. I have a well-defined self-love muscle and accept myself completely as I am, even as I work on being better. Just pointing out that I’m not perfect. And you don’t have to be perfect either to have amazing results in your life! If I was able to find a way to let go of over 80 pounds of excess weight and keep most of it off, besides some muscle weight I gained via strength training, you can absolutely do that too, and you can do even better than I did! If you choose to. 16 years ago, I used this principle with great success… It was the summer before I met my husband. At that time, I had never dated anyone for more than 8 months. Either they would get bored and be done, or I would get bored and be done. It was like having weight on the scale that never budges…8 months was my number. A part of me thought that I just wasn’t the “marriage” type…all the dating results I had experienced in my life so far pointed in that direction. But, another part of me really liked the idea of being with someone for life, and possibly even having kids. Maybe I wasn’t good enough to get married, that was my secret fear.

What do you need help with? How can you help others?
We did this a few weeks ago, but it feels valuable enough to do it again. Share in the comments below what you currently need help with and/or how you can help others. We have some amazing folks in this community, let's connect! Had a wonderful meeting earlier today, with @Tiffany Noel Taylor . She helped me with my About page and gave me some ideas about how I can spread the word about the Thrive Community. I helped her with some aspects of her health and wellness and referred her to our amazing resident Naturopathic Doctor, Dr. @Abigail Seaver . It felt wonderful to give and receive in this way, to help and receive help, all in one fun chat!
