@Krista Brea Thank you so much, Krista! 💛 Honestly, I never expected to be publishing books, but God keeps opening doors and placing ideas on my heart. It's been a learning journey, but I'm excited to keep creating resources that encourage and help others.
They really arrived. ❤️
Yesterday, I got to hold my very first Brave Little Colors books in my hands. What started as an idea to help children with diabetes feel seen, encouraged, and represented is now a real book that families can hold, color, and enjoy together. As I flipped through the pages, I felt so much gratitude. Gratitude for the support, encouragement, and kindness I've received throughout this journey. Gratitude for the children and families who inspired these books. And gratitude that I didn't give up when things felt overwhelming. These books were created to remind kids that diabetes is only one part of their story. They are brave, strong, capable, and amazing exactly as they are. Thank you to everyone who has followed along, shared kind words, and believed in this mission. This is just the beginning for Brave Little Colors. https://tinyurl.com/DiabetesSuperpowerGirl2 https://tinyurl.com/DIabetesSuperPowerBoy2 https://tinyurl.com/MyWheelsMyBraveAdventure

@Krista Brea Thank you so much, Krista! Your encouragement means more than you know. There were definitely a few obstacles along the way, but I kept reminding myself why I started. Every child deserves to feel seen, encouraged, and represented. I'm so grateful to finally hold these books in my hands and excited to keep creating resources that inspire and empower young minds. ❤️📚

This has been such a special project close to my heart. 💚 Brave Little Colors was created to help children feel brave, included, seen, and celebrated exactly as they are. These books are filled with creativity, encouragement, imagination, and everyday adventures designed to help kids build confidence and joy. As a nurse, creator, and someone living with diabetes myself, representation and encouragement matter deeply to me. I wanted to create books that remind children that differences are beautiful and that they are never alone. And this is just the beginning… ✨ I’m also excited to begin creating books and resources for women — especially midlife women navigating wellness, diabetes, life transitions, and the desire for simpler, healthier rhythms. Thank you to everyone who has supported, encouraged, shared ideas, and cheered me on through this journey. It truly means so much. Here’s to brave little moments, colorful adventures, and new beginnings. 🌈📚✨ https://tinyurl.com/DiabetesSuperpowerBoy https://tinyurl.com/DiabetesSuperpowerGirl

@Paul Cole Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words. Creativity has always been a huge part of who I am. I love crafting, coloring, and creating things that bring joy and comfort to others. Living with Type 2 diabetes for the past 25 years has also given me a deep understanding of how important encouragement, representation, and positivity can be. That’s a big part of what inspired Brave Little Colors — I wanted children to see themselves as brave, capable, included, and full of possibility. Creating these books has become such a meaningful way for me to combine creativity, compassion, and purpose into something that can hopefully brighten a child’s day and help families feel supported too.

@Liz Tomforde Thank you so much 💖 That truly means a lot to me. This is actually the beginning of a full series called Brave Little Colors! My goal is to create books that help children feel seen, encouraged, included, and confident through fun, uplifting stories and coloring books. I already have more books planned for diabetes, disabilities, medical differences, and other everyday brave moments because I believe every child deserves to see themselves represented in positive and empowering ways.
Coloring Book Review Tips
One thing I see a lot with coloring book creators is they publish their book and then sit back waiting for reviews to magically appear. The challenge with coloring books is that they are usually only offered in paperback format, which can make reviews a little slower because readers actually need to receive the book, use it, color in it, and enjoy the experience first. Here are a few ideas that can help: ✅ Build a small review team before launch - reach out to your network and ask people if they would be willing to support your book launch (while staying within Amazon guidelines), community members, or people already interested in your niche and let them know your book is coming. ✅ Share flip-through videos- Create short videos on TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Pinterest, or social media showing pages inside the book. People are more likely to buy and review when they can see what they are getting. ✅ Include a reminder inside your book - Add a page at the beginning or end with something simple like: "I hope you enjoyed this coloring book! Reviews help independent creators like me continue creating more books." ✅ Drive more sales first- Reviews usually follow volume. If your book sells 5 copies, reviews may be very limited. If it sells 100+ copies, your chances increase naturally. ✅ Create excitement around your niche- People often buy coloring books because of a passion or interest. Join communities where your audience already hangs out and become part of the conversation. One thing I wouldn't do: ask for only positive reviews or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Amazon takes review policies seriously. Question for you all: If you have published a coloring book already, what has helped you get reviews? 👇
