📢 LME NAVI: Weekly Onboarding & Support Meetup | May 30, 2025
Hi everyone! We're meeting again this Friday. This is our weekly chance to connect, stay motivated, and NAVIgate the course together. What to expect: 🌟 Welcome aboard, new members! @Abdullah Al Kareemi, @Kevin S, @Kevin Rhodes, @CarlosJL Martinez, @Wang Bo, @Sara Li, @Chloe Xuan, @Fiorella Trilla, @Vinicius Tavares, @Vladimir Krasnopyorov, @Sun Tana, @Merveille Matshi, @Joss Hoguet, @Rafael Carlos, @Ding Zhijun, @Lili Pan, @Jenny Liu, @Siamak Pouryan, and anyone I missed -- don’t be shy! This is a friendly space to meet English-speaking fellows. You’re welcome to just drop by and say hi! Starting is easy: “Hi! I'm ___, from ___. I'm new here and I enjoy speaking English.” That’s all it takes! We’re here to support. 🤠 Small Talk You've probably heard of small talk -- short, friendly conversations with people you don't know well. It could be with a coworker, a neighbor, or someone in line at the store. In the U.S., small talk is a way to feel more connected and comfortable in social situations. How about your culture? Do people often make small talk? How to make small talk like an American -- with real phrases, common topics, and tips on what to say? And remember: ✔️ Your English level doesn't matter here. ✔️ Don't stress if you forget a word -- gestures, smiles, mixing things up… it all works! ✔️ English isn't an art to master; it's a tool to connect. ✔️ The more we practice, the easier it gets.
