I like the Scotch for White but am starting to go back to the basics of solid Gioco Piano…
🎉 CONGRATULATIONS ON ONE OF YOUR MOST IMPRESSIVE ACHIEVEMENTS IN THE CHESS GRIND! ♟️🔥
21 days. Zero blunders (or at least, fewer than ever before). That wasn’t just a challenge — it was a transformation. You showed up. You focused. You pushed through the tilt, the time pressure, the tactical fog. And now here we are — stronger, sharper, and more resilient on the board. I participated too… but honestly? You’re the ones I’m impressed by. Wow. Just wow. 🙌 We didn’t just complete a challenge. We built a habit. A mindset. A community. Let’s carry that energy forward. Keep showing up. Keep training smart. And above all, keep enjoying the beautiful grind of getting better, one move at a time. Let’s go, team. 💪♟️

Dina, Thanks for ANOTHER incredible marathon! Loved the Speedrun and the 21 Day. I can tell my vision, calculation, and thinking have improved significantly as a result of the 2 courses. Appreciate all you do and your contribution to the chess community and helping us beginners make progress. Anthony

📚 Let’s Make This a Book Week!
Next week, let’s spend a little time each day sharing and discovering great chess books. Whether you’re just starting out or already thinking 10 moves ahead, there’s always something new to learn. I’ll be posting my top recommendations by level — feel free to add your own favorites in the comments too! Just getting into chess? Here are some great books to help you build a solid foundation and avoid common traps early on: 🔰 Beginners: 1. Everyone’s First Chess Workbook – perfect for learning by doing 2. The Amateur’s Mind – Jeremy Silman breaks down common mistakes 3. Simple Chess – Michael Stean explains positional play in a clear, no-nonsense way Start with any of these, and you’ll level up fast. What beginner book helped you the most?

I’m just about finished up with EFCW. On the final 12 or so puzzles. I am reading the physical copy and also got the Chessable to run through the puzzles again digitally. I am looking forward to tackling The Amateurs Mind as well as some endgame books…Chess Endings Essential Knowledge by Yuri Averbakh and possibly Silmans Endgame Course (if I can survive that long of a book).
