What type of potatoes are commonly used in Portugal? When I was there, I noticed that the fries were more yellow than they are in the United States, where they are a light beige. I suspect it is a different type of potato than the Russet potato commonly used in the United States. Can anyone confirm this? I attached a picture of what the fries look like.

Is there someone who sells it? Go across the street and cut it down? Have it delivered? How about finding someone to do some house keeping, cleaning a pool or gardening? Is there a directory? a bulletin board? or is it by word of mouth ( in a language we can't understand yet). :) Just a few questions we may have.
