Hot off my keyboard…
It’s a mixture of adrenaline rush drama and mystery. My heart is in contemporary romance. But this story hit me a little different. Don’t let the tagline fool you! Tagline: Beta Tested. Human Approved. Entirely Stolen. Title: SANITY Author: BY KAIDY WRIGHT Chapter One: The Architecture of a Void (1235) Whoa! Time to get up. The command came from a brain that didn’t recognize the body it was piloting. I rolled out of the heavy, silk-sheeted bed. My feet hitting hardwood that felt unnervingly... smooth. As I stood, a wave of vertigo washed over me. I scanned the room, my eyes darting from the high, crown-molded ceilings to the austere, ivory walls. "I’m awake, right?" I whispered. The sound of my own voice felt thin, like a radio signal losing its frequency. I pulled a plush robe over my shoulders—it was soft, expensive, and entirely... unfamiliar. Groggly... I moved and stumbled toward what I assumed was the en-suite. My mind was a sludgefest of half-formed thoughts. The kind of cognitive fog that usually clears after a splash of cold water. I reached for the handle and yanked it open. What? Only to find myself staring at a wall of empty hangers and built-in shelving. "Wait a minute," I muttered, the fog beginning to chill into a cold realization. "What?" I pinched the underside of my forearm. Hard. "Ouch! Okay... I’m awake." I let out a dry, nervous chuckle. "Foolish me. Get it together, girl. Just... a little morning disorientation. Talk it out." I turned to the second door and pulled. This one led to a long, vaulted hallway that seemed to stretch on with mathematical precision. I looked left, then right. The silence wasn't just... the absence of noise; it felt heavy, like the house was holding its breath. "Where am I?" I asked the empty air. "Why does this feel... Strange and wrong?" I took a few tentative steps onto the landing. My hand went to my forehead, checking for the heat of a fever, but my skin was cool. If anything, the cold was starting to seep into my marrow.

@Nikki Hillhouse oh wow! This is fabulous. I loved to read the book! I too have a health history. Not as serious as yours but god bless on your recovery and triumph💚. Please let me know the release date. I’ll preorder! ☺️

@Shirley-Louise Daniels love this it took me straight into an Austin era. I am not a Bridgeton fan either. Although I did like the Queen Charlotte episodes. I look forward to your series when it’s done. I will reread your passage again. It’s really captivating and took me straight back into my favorite Pride and Prejudice! It’s exciting to see how well versed you are with the genre. I am becoming a fan of your writing and its imagery makes me want to read Austin again since it’s been awhile☺️
A new project.
@Dani Rosenblad James I’m not sure if it was the inquiry question you did last week about if your book was film or movie; that got me stimulated to start a new project. I have a lot of stuff going on. Mainly my first manuscript is with an editor and we’re pulling out the kinks because it’s a lot of material. Also, I’ve been kind of MIA because of all the other projects that I’m working on with my poetry and some of my community activism. But I had this crazy dream two nights ago and I was telling my daughter about it, and I was trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together to help me understand why my dream was like so chaotic.Crazy and all over the place and it had missing pieces, like a pages missing from a book, or a day missing from your week or a moment missing from the next moment. or before the moments that led up to something. I have this ability to remember my dreams very clearly and very fresh and lots of details. so I decided that I take a moment. Write it to remember what happened. so I said let me just start to write this down. so it end about 24 hours ago. I had an outline of 17 chapters for the bones of the book. Over 8000 word count and now the whole picture is clear on all of the embellishments and angles are sliding in to view.I need to add meat and refine my characters to complete the project and I’m done with first draft revision to the outline. Now diving down to fatten up the chapters with the storyline vision and I’d like to share the first two chapters would love feedback it will be in my next post. Thank you Dani you always inspire me. 🥰

@Dani Rosenblad James funny you should ask a question like this. Originally, when I first started writing, it was in the premise that what I wanted to write about was a movie of my own creation. I vividly saw my characters and the scenes from angles that should be shot to tell the emotional dramas of the characters I envisioned and the rocky terrain that they traveled in my storyline. Somewhere along the way, I realize that I had so much to say if I were the reader, I would have one thing needed to approach a movie of the magnitude in my head. And that would’ve been to have read the book of the story I was telling. Now when I look back at it and see the magnitude of what I wrote, even in the process of all of the editing that’s being done to it. I still see the film role in my head as a visual of the movie it could become. It’s very exciting when you let the visions play in your head and you see written words, come to life. I imagine drawing the story boards for the filming in the play out of the roles of the characters in their engagements. Thank you for such a great question. I don’t get a lot of time to come in and talk in the community as much as I would like, but I could not walk away from the question that was asked. See you all soon.❣️

@Dani Rosenblad James I’ll give you more… I’ll post a little taste of the story for your mind to catch a hint. Title: Loves, twist and turns. Tagline: A restless heart is just a heart seeking its home. Opening scene : Looking around on a tree lined Atlanta street. Where homes lay back off of manicured grass and gardens with sculptured curb appeal. In the late summer of an August afternoon. Avery Another attempt to get some answers. My mind reminiscence at all of the familiar memories of years gone by. I approach her old residence wondering; if behind that door, I would find the answers. The touch of my finger on the doorbell, sent a rippling sensation straight to my heart. My ears heard the chime so familiar from my past. I scan my eyes at the surrounding facade of the property. There had been lots of changes in certain places, but still, I felt the familiarity of this being her home. The seconds are ticking off in my head as I wait for someone to answer. I hear voices behind me; as I turn to look out towards the street, again. People in the Neighbourhood are doing landscaping and talking with each other. It was sort of a distraction to my pending thoughts. Hopefully of what was about to happen. I take a deep breath. Full with anticipation and uncertainty. Maybe I’ll get some information. I move around with impatience; when I raised to press the bell again the door moved. I immediately shifted. Stepped back as the door opened slowly but not wide; not knowing who or what was going to appear. I’m expecting to see a person, stranger, adult. But there stood a little girl and her appearance caught me off guard. My mind starts racing. I immediately thought of my sister. “Hello” she says. My breath is caught in my throat. I feel the urgency to speak, but I can’t. It’s like my breathing is being suppressed by an invisible pressure. The child is staring at me with curiosity on her face. I clear my throat. “Hello” I reply. She is looking me up and down, examining me with eyes that ironically resemble mine. A smile comes to her face. With a little nod, she asked.
The Difference Between Self-Publishing & Traditional Publishing
Many writers tend to feel hesitant when it comes to figuring out HOW to publish their book. 📖 There are a few options. ✍️ You could self-publish, which is known as the quickest way. ✍️ There's hybrid publishing that involves for you to pay first. ✍️ Then there's traditional publishing where they help along the way. Which publishing route are you interested? I'm planning on having a special guest, @Rachael Bermingham talk about the difference between self-publishing and traditional publishing since she has been a publisher for 20+ years and her passion is helping others get their stories out there! 😁 I know that this would give a lot of value to many of you and help you understand what you get from each direction you can take along with what you need to do in order to get there. Now, does this seem something that you would be interested in? If so, what day and time of the week would work best? Let me know your timezone as well!

While I’ve been busy with revision to my first manuscript and book series. Publishing is that conundrum that lingers in the recesses of my mind. Especially because I’ve got several books of poetry and children stories in the works and almost ready for the next steps. But my manuscript needs to transition this year. So focused on editing right now. To have knowledge of all aspects for me is what makes me feel aligned with having a grasp of this whole process. Eye on the prize!
Merry Christmas 🎄
Today is the day! I bet many of you have a planned schedule! Here in Sweden, Christmas is celebrated on Christmas Eve. So, my lucky kiddo got to have two Christmases. The traditional Sweden one and then today we started it off like the Christmas I grew up with. So, it was only a half a day thing! What are your plans for today?
