Day 5 Update: Early Symptoms, Bumps & Mindset Rituals”
Day 5 of my 5-FU journey, and I’m finally seeing some early skin changes. Today I’ve got several small pimple-like bumps appearing where I’ve applied the cream, plus one tiny sore with puss. My skin feels tighter and a little itchy — but no pain. For me, these early signs make me think I’ll peak sooner rather than later. I also share some of the tools I’m using to keep my mindset strong during treatment: ✨ Gabrielle Bernstein’s book Super Attractor — my favorite author for staying grounded and positive✨ A daily focus ritual with The Secret card deck✨ Nicotinamide (Vitamin B3) — something an oncologist recommended; it’s used in Australia to help reduce new actinic keratoses and support skin cancer prevention Everyone’s skin reacts differently, so whether you’re on Day 5 or Day 15, remember: Your healing is happening even in the quiet moments. You’re not alone here. 💛 #5FU #Fluorouracil #SkinCancer #Mindset

5-FU Treatment Day 12 Update – Peak Reaction Phase
Today is officially Day 12 of my 5-FU / Efudex treatment (though technically Day 11 after taking one rest day). I’m now deep in the peak reaction stage — and this is the most intense part of the journey so far. My cheeks are the most painful area right now. Symptoms include: - Burning like a severe sunburn - Random “bee sting” sensations - Tightness, itching, and some drainage - Skin so sensitive it hurts to touch - Hard to sleep, especially as a side-sleeper To manage the discomfort, I’m using cold saline on 4x4s and applying Vaseline at night. It’s not easy, and I won’t sugar-coat it — how it looks is exactly how it feels. I missed a few updates because of the holiday, but I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. If you’re also going through 5-FU, feel free to share your experience. This community really helps.

“Day 3 Update: Early Symptoms & How I’m Feeling”
**Day 3 of my 5-FU journey, and symptoms are still very mild. I’m starting to see a little swelling on the tip of my nose, a bit of itchiness, and I woke up with a headache, but no major reaction yet — which is completely normal at this stage. Most people don’t see anything significant until Day 10–14. I also talk about the makeup question, why doctors say it's okay, and why I personally avoid it once things get crusty or irritated. If you're on this journey too, remember: healing begins before you can see it. Your body is working even in the quiet days. 💛
