My warehouse journey
My name is Thomas age 61 in Texas. I filed for disability benefits on February 3 2026. I have been a warehouse/ forklift operator for over 30 years and was at my last job 18 years (2008-2026) but unfortunately was unable to continue working due to my various issues. I have 4 bulging discs(L2-L5), copd, foot neuropathy and suffer from serious anxiety among other things. I had neck fusion in 2004, and sciatica procedure in 2010. Despite this I continued to work out of necessity as I’m sure people can relate to. Anyone in or familiar with warehousing knows that over time it takes a toll on your body. In my career I unloaded over 8,000 inbound loads and loaded out about 10,000 outbounds. The physical toll on my neck, back, and feet/ legs is ridiculous to say the least. In 2024 my issues became worse and in 2025 sought medical care and long story short here I am.

Hello! My name is Sherri and I live in Michigan.
I’ll be turning 62yrs in August ‘26, and am divorced. I meet all the qualifications for an ex-spouse. I was laid off from my job in April, after being acquired in Jan ‘26. A friend asked me if I considered retiring? I had no idea I could retire at 62! Ideally, I’d like to wait until 67, to receive max benefits, but if I am unable to secure a job before UI runs out, I may not have a choice. My #1 worry is making the wrong decision on when to retire. My ‘WIN’ would be having all the knowledge I need to make a confident decision on when to take my benefits. Thank you!
