Hey Babe! First of all, I'm so glad you're here. This is 2 Femme, 2 Furious in her final girl form. I simply cannot resist a Fast & Furious reference on my corner of the internet. This community is designed for anyone with the heart of a fangirl but the spirit of an activist. Listen, radical joy is an act of resistance. You can come into this space and just geek out over the books you love, fangirl over fictional men and women, and write a dissertation-length post about the latest episode of whatever you're currently binging. IMHO, though, Fangirls are some of the most active members of the internet. We're shaping culture. We ARE culture. So why not put that energy into action and use it to topple the patriarchy? If that tickles you, you're probably in the right place. This is a feminist cultural salon for people who believe that the stories women love are critically and culturally important. This is, in part, a companion community space for the Femme & Furious Podcast. We explore TV, movies, and books through a feminist and queer-affirming lens. We'll have all sorts of events to help you find your people and fangirl freely. It's also a space to engage with feminism from a more active space. Around here, we don't separate pop culture from the real world. We ask better questions, share great recommendations, learn from one another, and turn curiosity into action. There will be monthly salons with different feminist experts, from philosophers to political activists. As these happen, they will be available to you in the "classroom" section -- this is where we will build a feminist resource library to help you deepen your education and create your action plans! More than anything, though, we're building a community. My hope is that this becomes your favorite corner of the internet. I hope this is a place where you recognize names, celebrate each other's wins, ask thoughtful questions, share what you're reading or watching, and eventually realize you've entered into the very best trope of all: found family.
