Do I own the music I make?
🚨 IMPORTANT SUNO UPDATE (PLEASE READ)
If you’re using Suno, here’s what changed — in plain English.
✅ Commercial Use = PAID PLANs ONLY (YOU OWN IT)
  • Free Suno = personal use only❌ No Spotify❌ No monetized YouTube❌ No selling or licensing
  • Paid Suno (Pro / Premier) = you can monetize your music
⚠️ If you cancel your paid plan, new songs made after that point are NOT commercial.
🚫 No Copying Real Artists Anymore
You can NOT prompt:
  • “Sound like Drake”
  • “In the style of Beyoncé”
  • “Taylor Swift vocals”
You CAN say things like:
  • “Modern melodic R&B”
  • “90s-inspired soulful vocals”
  • “Emotional trap with warm harmonies”
👉 Use genres + vibes, not artist names.
🎼 You Own Your Songs — BUT…
You own what you create in Suno, however:
  • Suno does not protect you legally
  • You’re responsible if a song sounds too close to a real one
💡 Best practice:
  • Edit lyrics
  • Change structure
  • Re-record or tweak vocals
  • Treat Suno as a starting point, not the final product
⚠️ Stronger Enforcement Now
Suno is cracking down on:
  • Copying artist styles
  • Reselling raw Suno songs as-is
  • Abusing or automating accounts
Teaching + transforming = ✅
Generate & dump = ❌
🧠 THE SAFE WAY TO USE SUNO
✔️ Use genre-based prompts
✔️ Rewrite lyrics
✔️ Customize structure + sound
✔️ Make it YOURS
That’s how you stay legal, monetized, and future-proof.
