Week recap
This has been an interesting week. Everyone has a different way of viewing it. We lost 3 legends in the entertainment industry 3 days in a row. Dolly Parton on Tuesday, Tim Curry who you may know from Home Alone 2, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, among others yesterday and Peter Cullen today. He was the voice of The Optimus Prime. All 3 left a big legacy. The great thing is that they did so much and lived a long life. Played unique characters, were so authentic and we can definitely learn a lot from that. I did a post about Aunt Dolly (how I got introduced to her in Hannah Montana as well as she was introduced to many of us). Tim Curry, as described by Rob Schneider in an interview I watched was always playing and giving the directors so many options to work with. He broke many stereotypes on how one should look. Peter Cullen was mostly known to me and maybe many of us as Optimus Prime and he might have redefined how a leader is portrayed. He wasn't loud but in his low deep voice gave us a sense of hope in the Transformers movies.
What do they have in common? Authenticity. It's not a matter of making your life public, but wherever you go, whatever you do, do it authentically. I want to make that kind of an impact as an actor and I hope I'm also bringing a certain light for teens present and who I've crossed paths with.
What kind of impact do you hope people remember you for?
