The Coping Mechanism You Built to Survive
Every emotional wound creates a coping strategy.
At first, it protects you.
Over time, it limits you.
Some examples:
⭐️People-pleasing to avoid rejection
⭐️Anger to avoid vulnerability
⭐️Shutting down to avoid conflict
⭐️Overachieving to feel worthy
⭐️ Hyper-independence to avoid disappointment
These patterns were intelligent at one point.
They kept you safe.
But ask yourself:
Are they still serving you?
Today’s Reflection:
  1. What coping mechanism do you use when you feel triggered?
  2. How did it protect you in the past?
  3. How might it be limiting you now?
This is not about shaming your survival self.
It’s about updating it.
