Welcome
Welcome to WV Security & Investigators
This community exists to support professional, responsible private security officers and investigators operating in West Virginia.
It is not a social group, a tactical forum, or a place for bravado.
It is a professional development space focused on judgment, discipline, documentation, and risk-based practice.
What This Community Is For
WV Security & Investigators is built for individuals who take the profession seriously and understand that careers are shaped by:
  • Decisions made under pressure
  • Respect for authority limits
  • Clear documentation
  • Professional restraint
  • Operational discipline
This community emphasizes how security and investigative work is evaluated after the fact—by clients, supervisors, attorneys, insurers, and courts.
The Training Philosophy
The courses hosted here are built around one core idea:
Professional fundamentals determine long-term success.
Training focuses on:
  • Authority and scope
  • Role clarity and responsibility
  • De-escalation and prevention
  • Documentation and report writing
  • Chain of command discipline
  • OPSEC and INFOSEC
  • Threat and risk assessment
  • Professional conduct and self-assessment
This is baseline professional training, not minimum compliance or licensing prep.
Courses Offered
Professional Security Fundamentals
A comprehensive fundamentals course designed to prepare security officers to operate competently, defensibly, and advancement-ready. It emphasizes judgment, restraint, documentation, and risk management over confrontation or force.
Additional courses and modules will be added over time to support continued professional development for both security officers and investigators.
Who This Community Is (and Isn’t) For
This community is for:
  • Security officers who want to advance
  • Investigators who value credibility and discipline
  • Supervisors and leads responsible for others
  • Professionals who want to avoid career-ending mistakes
This community is not for:
  • Cop-fantasy culture
  • Tactical role-play
  • Ego-driven posturing
  • Shortcut seekers
Community Standards
Professional conduct is expected here:
  • Respectful, focused discussion
  • No operational bragging or loose talk
  • No disclosure of sensitive information
  • Questions and discussion grounded in professionalism
The same discipline expected on post applies here.
Final Note
Security and investigative work are professions built on trust—trust from clients, employers, and the public.
This community exists to help members earn and keep that trust.
