Most Wrestlers Are Broke. Here's How Smart Ones Are Making Money Online Without Selling Anything They Created.
Let me be real with you.
Most wrestlers are out here grinding for $50-$100 bookings, driving 3 hours each way, sleeping in their car, and wondering why they can't pay their bills.
Meanwhile, some wrestlers are quietly making $500, $1,000, even $5,000+ a month ONLINE โ€” without creating a single product.
How? Affiliate marketing.
And it's the most slept-on income stream in wrestling.
Let me break it down.
WHAT IS AFFILIATE MARKETING?
You recommend a product or service you already use. Someone buys it through your link. You get paid a commission.
That's it. You don't create anything. You don't ship anything. You don't handle customer service. You just share what you already know and use.
WHY THIS IS PERFECT FOR WRESTLERS
Think about it. People already ask you stuff like:
"What shoes do you wrestle in?"
"What do you eat before a match?"
"What do you use to cut weight?"
"Where do you get your gear?"
"What supplements do you take?"
"What camera do you use for your promos?"
Every single one of those questions is an affiliate opportunity.
You're already giving the recommendation for free. You might as well get paid for it.
HERE'S HOW TO START (5 STEPS)
Step 1 โ€” Make a list of everything you use.
Wrestling boots. Knee pads. Protein powder. Pre-workout. Gear brands. Training equipment. The camera you film promos on. The editing app you use. ALL of it.
Step 2 โ€” Sign up for affiliate programs.
Most companies have one. Amazon Associates is the easiest to start with. But check individual brands too โ€” they often pay higher commissions. Look for 10-30% commission rates.
Step 3 โ€” Create content around what you already know.
You don't need to be a content creator. You just need to answer the questions people are already asking.
Examples:
"Best wrestling boots under $100" (YouTube video or Skool post)
"My pre-match meal that keeps me fueled for 20 minutes" (Instagram story with product links)
"The 5 things I bring to every show" (TikTok or YouTube Short)
"Gear I wish I had when I started training" (blog post or Skool post)
Step 4 โ€” Put your links where people can find them.
Link in bio. Linktree page. YouTube description. Skool posts. Email signature. Everywhere.
Step 5 โ€” Be consistent and honest.
Only recommend stuff you actually use and believe in. People can smell a fake recommendation from a mile away. Your credibility is your biggest asset โ€” in the ring AND online.
REAL NUMBERS TO GET YOUR ATTENTION
Let's say you recommend a pair of $80 wrestling boots on Amazon.
Amazon pays about 4% commission = $3.20 per sale.
That's low. But here's where it gets interesting.
Now let's say you recommend a $50/month supplement through a brand's direct affiliate program at 20% commission.
That's $10/month per person. Get 50 people to sign up? That's $500/month. Recurring.
Or let's say you become an affiliate for a training program, an online course, or a software tool that pays $50-$100 per referral.
Send 20 people a month? That's $1,000-$2,000/month.
And it grows. Because your content stays up. That YouTube video you made 6 months ago? Still sending people to your link. Still making you money while you sleep.
THE WRESTLERS WHO WIN ARE THE ONES WHO THINK LIKE BUSINESS OWNERS
You already have something most affiliate marketers would kill for โ€” a REAL identity, a REAL audience, and REAL credibility.
You're not some random person on the internet. You're a wrestler. People trust you because you actually do this.
Use that.
Stop leaving money on the table every time someone asks you what boots you wear or what protein you drink.
YOUR HOMEWORK
Write down 10 products or services you already use and recommend
Check if they have an affiliate program (Google "[brand name] affiliate program")
Sign up for the top 3
Create ONE piece of content this week that includes your link
Drop a comment below telling me what products you're going to promote
That's it. Start small. Stay consistent. Stack it up.
The wrestlers who figure this out early are the ones who don't have to wrestle for gas money.
Let's build something. Who's in? ๐Ÿ‘‡
