Let’s talk about something every wrestler knows but few actually do right and that is cleaning your gear.
You ever unzip your bag in the locker room and get smacked in the face with that “gym sock from 1998” smell?
Yeah… that’s not a good look.
Here’s the deal: Your gear isn’t just fabric. It’s part of your brand. If you smell bad, look bad, or your colors fade, people notice. Promoters notice. Fans notice.
Here is some pro-level advice on how to make your gear last forever and keep it looking TV-ready:
🧼 Turn it inside out (get the sweat-facing parts out in the open)
🛁 Hand wash in lukewarm water with Woolite. NOT the washing machine
🚫 Don’t soak or tumble dry (that destroys color and stitching)
☀️ Air dry in sunlight to kill bacteria
🌬️ Hit it with Febreze before AND after drying
Think about it: your gear is a $400+ investment. Treat it like one.
