Correct the miss before it becomes the pattern
Yesterday, we talked about missed reps.
One missed follow-up.
One skipped proof point.
One delayed conversation.
One unprotected leverage action.
One ignored trigger.
One standard that slipped when the week got noisy.
A missed rep is not the problem.
Leaving it uncorrected is.
Because the longer a miss sits, the easier it becomes to normalize.
“I’ll get to it later” becomes the system.
“I’ll catch up next week” becomes the rhythm.
“I know what I need to do” becomes a substitute for doing it.
“One missed rep” becomes two.
Two becomes the pattern.
That is how standards erode.
Quietly.
Not because you stopped caring.
Because you stopped correcting fast enough.
So today is not about shame.
It is about speed of correction.
If the follow-up slipped, send one today.
If the proof point was missed, capture one before Friday.
If the hard conversation stayed in your head, put it on the calendar.
If the leverage action got swallowed by easy work, protect a smaller version before the day ends.
If the trigger failed, make it clearer.
If the standard got renegotiated, recommit through action.
The correction does not have to be huge.
It has to be real.
One action.
One rep.
One move that tells the old pattern it does not get to take over again.
That is how you keep the standard alive.
Today’s question:
What is one missed rep you need to correct before Friday closes?
Drop it below.
Not as an apology.
As a correction.
Because a strong standard is not proven by never slipping.
It is proven by how fast you recover when you do.
