🏁 Hudy Series Round 4 – Mid-Day Setup & Results Update!
Busy day here at DMCC for Round 4 of the Hudy Series – loads of fast laps, drama, broken bits, and plenty of setup testing throughout the qualifiers. Here’s how things have been going on my end so far: 🛠️ Qualifying Rundown & Setup Changes Q1 – Baseline Run No changes made for Q1 – just sent it to see how the car felt after last race day. ➡️ Car felt decent and predictable, nothing strange showing up. Q2 – First Tweaks Change: - Moved front camber link to the outer position on the hubResult: - Car became less snappy on corner entry - More stable coming into the apex, smoother rotation Q3 – Fixing Mid/Exit Push Changes: - Removed shim on front inner ball joint (mid position kept)➜ Was finding the front collapsing and pushing the nose from mid-to-exit - Added 2mm shim on rear inner ball joint (kept inner position)➜ Immediately felt like the rear had more grip, more confidence on throttle Q4 – Best Feeling So Far Changes: - Added 2mm shim under the front ball joint (same position)➜ Front end felt much better – more steering without pushing or collapsing - Added +2mm more to rear inner ball joint (now 4mm total)➜ Gave more rear grip on power, could push harder while keeping the car planted➜ Overall the best balance I’ve had all day 📊 Round Results Dropped in the results board so everyone can see the standings after Q2 and Q3 💥 The Not-So-Lucky Corner Not everyone escaped drama – GingaPaint absolutely obliterated a C-Hub after a misjudged corner. Happens to the best of us 😂 🏟️ Pit Hall Vibes Great atmosphere across the pits today – loads of different cars, setups, chats, and advice flying around. Brilliant turnout. How’s everyone else getting on? Any big changes working for you today? Any shocker moments or breakthroughs? 📸 Photos from the Day Drop your updates below 👇

Hudy Series Round 4 — Weekend Recap & Lessons Learned
What a weekend at DMCC for Round 4 of the Hudy Series! 🔥 Lots of racing, lots of learning — and the big takeaway once again… consistency beats outright pace every single time. I qualified 1st in the C Final, ran three legs and finished: 🏆 P1 — Clean start & controlled drive 🏆 P1 — Consistent laps, minimal mistakes 🥉 P3 — A rough one after a messy second lap, but fought back That gave me the overall win in the C Final, and when split into Modified/Clubman I came away with 3rd in Clubman. Can’t complain! Also really proud of Lexi, who had a solid day, improving her lap times from previous weeks and slowly getting the racecraft nailed down. More track time is definitely helping, and we’ll start looking at some simple setup changes to help confidence. Big shout-out to the legend himself, Richard Bodel, who reinforced the idea of consistency… by managing to hit the exact same spot on the track with both his own car and his wife’s car. That’s commitment 😅👏 Feel free to drop your own weekend results, wins, fails, photos, or anything you learned. Let’s build up the racing chat! 📸

Hudy Series Round 4 — Weekend Recap & Lessons Learned
🏁 Race Day Report – Hudy Series Round 4 at DMCC!
C Final – 1st Place 🥇 Clubman – 3rd Overall 🥉 What a brilliant day’s racing at Dublin Model Car Club! Plenty of close battles, setup learning, and great vibes in the pits. 🔧 Qualifying Recap I qualified P1 in the C Final after four solid qualifying rounds. Q1 No setup changes – just drove the car as it was. Felt good out of the box. Q2 – First Tweaks - Moved front camber link to outer position on the hub→ Less snappy mid-corner, more stable entry. Q3 – More Fine-Tuning - Removed shim on front inner ball joint→ Front was collapsing and pushing on exit, so not ideal. - Added 2mm shim to rear inner ball joint→ More rear grip, more planted feel. Q4 – Perfecting It - Added 2mm shim under front inner ball joint→ Much better steering and no collapsing mid-corner. - Added another 2mm rear inner shim (4mm total)→ Massive improvement. More drive out of corners without upsetting the car. By Q4 the car felt super balanced — predictable, stable, and confident. 🏆 Finals – 3 Legs, Best 2 to Count Final 1 – P1 Clean start, pushed early, built a lead. A few mid-race mistakes but held it together and finished strong. Final 2 – P1 Another clean first lap, tidy overall, just a couple of tiny offs. Good pace, smooth driving. Another win. Final 3 – P3 False start → restart. Lap 2 disaster 😂 A few big mistakes dropped me to the back. Clawed back through the field to finish P3. 🎉 Overall Result **1st, 1st, 3rd → **🏆 WINNER of the C Final! This should put me 13th overall, and once split into classes, I finished: 👉 3rd in Clubman 🚀 Big takeaway: Consistency beats outright speed. Clean laps > fastest laps. Smooth driving wins races. 👧 Lexi’s Day – Great Progress! Lexi qualified 5th in the D Final, improving every run. Her lap times and overall pace were noticeably better than previous weeks. She’s getting more confident, more consistent, and you can really see the improvement building each race day. Next steps: 🔹 More track time 🔹 Start introducing subtle setup changes

😅 Late Start, But We Made It! — Race Day at DMCC 🇮🇪🏁
Well… we slept in this morning 🤣 BUT — we still managed to get to Dublin Model Car Club just in time to squeeze in the very last practice run. Car felt great straight out of the box! Setup from our last race day here is still dialled, and we managed to get a clean run in without breaking anything. 🙌 Others… not quite so lucky 👀 @Chris Holden Gingapaint absolutely annihilated a C-hub after a misjudged corner — tough day already for some! A few photos from the morning👇 - My buggy ready to go - Our pit table setup - The unfortunate C-hub carnage Feel free to share what track you’re at today — or what you’re wrenching on this morning! 🔧🔥 Let’s see who else is out racing this Sunday! 🏎💨 📸 Photos:
