Alex Hormozi, owner of Acquisition.com and the main investor in Skool, defines leads as "A person you can contact. That's all." But as he explains further in his book $100M Leads, what we really want are engaged leads - people who show interest in the stuff you sell. Why is this important for your agency? Well, whether you're selling AI chatbots, AI callers, or automations, you need someone to sell it to. Without leads, you have no one to convert into customers.
The Core Four Lead Generation Strategies
In $100M Leads, Alex outlines four fundamental ways to get leads, which he recommends implementing in a specific order:
1. Warm Outreach
Start by reaching out to people who already know you (friends, family, connections, etc.). These are people who have given you permission to contact them. Use personal messages through calls, texts, emails, or direct messages.
Alex recommends doing 100 reach outs per day and using the ACA framework:
- Acknowledge what they said
- Compliment them on what they tell you
- Ask another question
2. Post Free Content
Build an audience by consistently sharing valuable content. Make content that hooks attention, retains it, and rewards it. According to Hormozi, "the content you create isn't the compounding asset - the audience is."
Follow his "give-give-give until they ask" approach. Provide so much value that people naturally want more from you. Read till the end to see what my free offer for you is.
3. Cold Outreach
Once you've exhausted your warm connections, start reaching out to strangers (cold audiences). This includes cold calls, cold emails, and cold DMs to people who match your ideal customer profile.
Alex recommends:
- Building targeted lists
- Personalizing your messages
- Offering massive value upfront
- Following up multiple times in multiple ways
4. Paid Ads
Finally, invest in paid advertising. This is where you pay platforms to put your offer in front of their audience. Focus on efficiency - finding the right audience and creating ads that convert.
Alex's approach includes:
- Starting with a small budget to test
- Finding what works before scaling
- Aiming for client-financed acquisition (where first purchase covers ad costs)
Why This Matters For Your AI Agency
In the AI automation agency space, you're selling solutions that many businesses don't even know they need yet. Having a consistent flow of leads means you always have potential customers to educate and convert.
I can help them get leads in their area with my tool called Leadz. I've helped other people in the community get thousands of leads. Check out the file below to see a list of leads I got for a community member.
Example email:
Hey Ronald,
Can I get a list of plumbers in Brooklyn NY?
Remember what Alex says: "If you cannot explain something in simple terms, then you don't understand it." The concept is simple - if you want to make money, you need leads. And the more leads you have, the more chances you get to succeed.
