Do you know what your needs are?
In talking to friends and working with clients I've noticed one thing.
Most people don't know what their immediate needs are.
What I mean by that is that they do not now how much money they would need on a weekly or monthly basis that they need to make in order to be relieved from financial stress.
I can relate to very well because until recently I was more or less in the same boat. When I realized that I needed to make $1,000 a week not only to cover my personal expenses but my business expenses as well for the time being I knew exactly what I needed to do.
Based on what I averaged per hour in tips while twisting balloons, I need it to work roughly 20 hours a week doing that.
Twisting balloon is something that I have been doing for a number of years, but it is something that I want to exit out of and build a more meaningful business that would generate ongoing residual income for me so I can pursue my dream of full-time travel.
I made the decision to stay committed to twisting balloons. until I reach a level of up $5,000 per month recurring revenue. (MRR in Skool lingo)
What about you? Do you know what your needs are? if not, make that your first priority to figure it out. I'm creating a simple worksheet that can help you with it. I will put it in the classroom and make it accessible to everyone.
Once you have your number, your next job is to figure out how.you can meet that number. If your current employment can satisfy that need without putting a time burden on your desired to build your business. then you already have the problem solved.
I have a feeling that may not be the case, otherwise you wouldn't be in the stressful situation that you might be in.
So your next challenge is to look at your inventory of skills and life experiences.
When I was faced with the situation where I needed to generate x amount of money ASAP to meet my obligations so I can be free to think about what I want to be when I grow up - I was only in my mid-50s - I examined my life experiences.
I knew I could get a job as a waiter or a pizza delivery person and working part-time I could generate enough income to meet my needs. I knew that because I had done that in the past.
But I had learned that if you keep doing what you've always done, you'll keep getting what you've always got and I was done with getting what I was getting. I needed a different solution I needed to break out of the routine. I was looking for a breakthrough in the middle of a breakdown.
in the hindsight, a breakdown is the best place to find a breakthrough. That's when I came up with the idea of twisting balloons. I had never done it and I wasn't even sure that I could. But I was curious. So I went out and invested 20 bucks in myself to learn how to do it.
Not one decision turned out to be life-altering for me. What I thought would be a bridge between where I was and where I wanted to be turned out to be the means that enabled me to pursue my dream life of full-time travel, which I did for almost a decade.
If you need help sorting things out or bouncing ideas and brainstorming with someone reach out to me in the DM. Let's talk. No sales pitch. No agenda. And if you find value in our conversation, you can tell the world about it so I can help more people.
