He had great reviews and 12 years in business. Stuck at position #7. Here's what two SEO audits missed.
A few months ago, a business owner reached out to us frustrated.
Great Google reviews — 4.8 stars, over 200 of them. Quality work his customers rave about. 12 years serving the same city.
But stuck at position 6-7 on Google while newer, less experienced competitors sat in the top 3.
He'd already paid for two SEO audits. The first told him to "add more keywords to your service pages." The second told him to "build more backlinks."
He did both. Nothing changed.
So we ran a completely different kind of analysis.
Instead of checking keywords and backlinks, we evaluated his business the way Google actually evaluates it — as an entity.
Here's the difference:
Traditional SEO audits ask: "What's missing from this page?"
We asked: "Can Google confidently resolve this business as the answer for this query?"
Two very different questions. Two very different outcomes.
What we found wasn't a keyword problem. It wasn't a backlink problem. It was an entity coherence problem — and it showed up in 4 specific places:
𝟏. 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 His business name was spelled differently across 4 platforms. "Johnson's Plumbing" on the website. "Johnson Plumbing LLC" on Yelp. "Johnsons Plumbing" on Facebook. "Johnson & Son Plumbing" on the BBB listing. Google was looking at what appeared to be 4 different businesses — and splitting his authority across all of them.
𝟐. 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 His title tags promised expertise his content didn't deliver. Pages titled "Comprehensive Guide to Water Heater Repair" were 200 words of generic copy. Google tested the promise against the page — and learned his declarations were unreliable. Every time.
𝟑. 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐲 In 12 years of business, not a single journalist, blogger, local organization, or industry publication had ever mentioned him. The only links pointing to his site were directory listings he'd created himself. Google had zero independent confirmation that he was what he claimed to be. Meanwhile, his competitor had been mentioned in a local news article and featured on the city's chamber of commerce page. Two simple editorial mentions — and it was enough to tip the scale.
𝟒. 𝐀𝐈 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 We asked ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Claude: "Who's the best plumber in [his city]?" He didn't come up in any of them. His competitor came up in two. That's not a fluke — that's a direct readout of entity signal strength across the internet.
Here's the part that stuck with him:
None of these 4 problems would have been found by a traditional SEO audit.
Not one.
Keywords? His were fine. Backlinks? He had more than his top competitor. Page speed? Passed every test. Those audits checked the right technical boxes — but asked the wrong diagnostic question.
The right question isn't "what's missing from this page?"
The right question is "which relationship broke between this entity and Google's trust system?"
Once he could see exactly WHICH signals were fragmented, WHY they were causing distrust, and in what ORDER to fix them — everything shifted. Because now he wasn't guessing. He was diagnosing.
That's what the SignalMap™ Entity Coherence Audit does.
We evaluate your business through the same 5 lenses Google's classification systems actually use:
🛡️ Trust Validation — Are you verifiable? Real people, real credentials, real reputation.
⏱️ Temporal Drift — Are your signals fresh or decaying?
📋 Declaration Coherence — Do your titles, content, and data tell a consistent story?
🏗️ Structural Coherence — Does your architecture declare clear knowledge relationships?
🌐 Off-Page Validation — Do independent sources confirm what you claim about yourself?
Each pillar scored. 61+ signals evaluated. 20 drift factors diagnosed with evidence and impact ratings. Competitive benchmarking against your top 3 ranking competitors. AI accuracy test. Root cause diagnosis. Prioritized recovery roadmap.
30+ page professional report delivered in 5 business days.
Normally $100 per location. One time. No retainer. No contract.
🔥 But for this community — $40 off.

"Can my team implement the findings?" → Yes. The roadmap is organized by priority: Critical (fix this week), High (this month), Medium (60 days), Long-term (90+ days). Any SEO-literate person can run with it.
"What if I already have an SEO agency?" → Even better. Hand them the report. It tells them exactly where to focus instead of guessing.
"What do you need from me?" → Business name, website, GBP link, target query (e.g. "best plumber in Phoenix"), and service area. That's it — we handle the rest.
"What if I have multiple locations?" → Same pricing per location — $60 each with the Skool code. Each location has its own entity signals and competitive context.
If you want to test one thing right now: ask ChatGPT "Who's the best [your service] in [your city]?"
If you don't come up — or the information is wrong — that's your entity coherence problem playing out in real time.
Drop a comment with what you find. Happy to break down what it means for your specific situation.
🎟️ Reminder: Code 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗠𝗮𝗽𝟲𝟬 = $40 off → $60 instead of $100. Expires March 1st. 👉 https://webidoctr.com/signalmap
