Going Inward
Life was never really out of the ordinary. I went to school, had my 20s and then joined the military. When I was ready to face my fears everything had to change. I started by changing the domestic situation i was in. I stopped reacting to the belittling words, condescending tone, or criticism. I chose to stay silent. **Be Still** Do not respond. He will keep going if i respond. I made the conscious choice to control my reactions. We get mad easily but it takes more discipline and discernment to choose this route. When i feel my heart racing, my adrenaline starts pumping, I start thinking of other things that make me happy and safe. This brought my body down from a survival mode.
Give it a try. When you feel an argument brewing or kids getting on your last nerve, try to be aware of your reaction. Post and let me know what happened.
