Task master — 19 day streak

Almost unbelievably, I still have not updated the social sharing badge from task master. (Overlapping text, blatantly AI slop design / layout, wrong URL lol).

But I am sharing this for another reason besides opportunity for self deprecating humor.

A little while back I made the leap from my favorite task management tools (Trello + Sunsama) to go “all in” on what I had been building a while to replace them. It’s the tool. I wish I had as a COO all these years.

I had one foot in one foot out for a while personally.

Tinkering with what had become a beastly “vibe coded” project riddled with bugs, I kept my own personal task management in the tools I had relied on throughout my career.

Actually using Task Master myself was a “someday” thing.

I realized at a certain point how important it was for me to “dog food” the tool however. It just would have to be a lot earlier than I originally thought.

So for a while now, I’ve been using it every day. Many streaks have been lost to bugs. Many streaks have been broken from me not having the willpower to face the brokenness of the app again.

It’s been a long journey of a steep learning curve and consistent adaptation in pursuit of my ultimate vision — a portfolio management platform that enables self optimizing enterprises.

Because of that - this 19 day streak is uniquely special to me.

Because it marks the first time I’ve consistently enjoyed using the app for a while.

It’s “working”.

There’s a long road ahead still but we’ve made it pretty far.
