Victoria, BC.
The tide goes out. Far out.
And suddenly you're standing on the ocean floor.
Dead crabs. Old bottles. Rocks that cut.
It's quiet. Too quiet.
And you know — you *know* — the water is coming back.
Fast. Hard. No warning.
You better remember who you are before it does.
Because at the bottom, there's no mask.
No performance.
No "I'll figure it out later."
Just you. Naked. Alone with what you've forgotten.
Life throws us there when we refuse to remember on our own.
The breakup. The diagnosis. The loss that floors us.
We wait for the tide to force us bare.
But here's the thing:
You don't need the ocean to strip you.
You can remember now.
Before the water rises.
Before you're swept.
A morning practice. One breath. One honest question.
Who am I beneath all this?
Don't wait for the bottom to remember.
The tide is always coming.
Today I remembered: _________________________________
Who I was. Who I am. Who I'm becoming.
What are YOU remembering before the water rises?
