Should probably share some things that help others understand who I am and why I do what I do.
My name is Michael Naumann. I was blessed to be raised by parents that I still consider good hard-working people. I have one younger sister whom I love and adore. I'm married to wonderful loving woman who at times struggles to understand why I take on such difficult tasks, but she is still with me and still loves me, as I love her, and am blessed by God to have her, as well as all the family, friends and loved ones that I have.
I retired from the U.S. Army in 2008, after 22 years of service in Active Duty, as I started out after high school, and in the Minnesota Army National Guard in both the 47th Infantry Division and the 34th Infantry Division as a proud "Red Bull".
I was anything but an overachiever in high school, except when it came to biology class and a writing class. The army taught me many things, one of the most important things is that a person can do just about anything they set their mind to as long as we're willing to do the work, accept & learn from the failures, and just keep driving on with great care & attention to detail, knowing that we succeed as a team and fail as a team. Selfish goals and Individual accolades are all meaningless when I'm dead on the battlefield or worse yet, when a fellow soldier is dead on the battlefield because I failed to do my job, or teach my subordinates how to do my job in my absence.
It's been blessing after blessing for me, as well as curse after curse. The blessings have all been due to God and the curses have all been due to my failure to recognize God's Truth.
I have failed in many, many, many ways, and thank God that I have, because all my failures have been points of learning & strengthening. Some of the more interesting facts: I have been accepted for a position with the FBI but declined it, wouldn't have graduated high school if it weren't for my Army Recruiter, graduated at the top of my class for AIT (Advanced Individual Training at Aberdeen Proving Grounds), was the Company, Battalion & Brigade Mechanic of the Quarter at Ft Sill, been divorced 3 times, once while in Iraq, was an Honor Grad for a Combat Life Saver course at Camp Shelby, had a 4.0 GPA through 2 years of weekend & evening classes for business administration at Augsburg College, before I left due to the removal of their weekend or evening classes. I've had way too many car accidents, had "mommy issues" due to the divorce between my parents when I was 7. I have upset more of my leaders than I can even account for, because of my stance on doing the right thing no matter what. I won't deliberately lie TO you or FOR you, period.
I have a pile of awards, certificates, achievements, medals, letters, and the like, but the most important thing in my life is God and what He knows about me. To God, I'm loved in spite of all my failures because I know His Son is real, and that One God, is with me all the time through His Spirit that is in me, and available to everyone!
To those whom much has been given, much is expected, and that includes you & me. God has given us all much!
