September 20, 1971. 10:45p.m. Engineer Sten Sture is driving on the E4 near Öjebyn, Sweden, when he sees a strong light with vertical beams shining to the ground both in front and in back of his car. He tries to brake the car, but it keeps moving forward, and suddenly everything becomes completely blue black around him. No lights come from the headlights. He sees the vertical lights again and the blackness seems to lift and rise from the ground, outlining itself against the horizon. He speeds ahead, keeping the black mass in sight until it disappears below the horizon.
