There's been some discussion about CapCut, it's pricing, it's future and other apps to consider.
The bottom line: virually ALL the editing apps out there will get the job done. A great editor can make an infinitely better video with iMovie (does that still exist?) than a beginner with Davinci Resolve.
What matters is how well you can tell a story and communicate your message. The buttons you pushed to get there don't matter. At all. Well, almost not at all! If you're proficient at pushing those buttons you can get to the finish line a lot faster.
For those considering other apps, I encourage you to TRY THEM. There are free versions of Filmora, CapCut and Davinci Resolve. See how they fit with what YOU want to create and what you want to learn. CapCut and Filmora? Easy to learn. Premiere? It's gonna take a minute. Resolve? A few more minutes still.
I know Premiere very well and like it. But IMO, Davinci Resolve is better - just way more current. So, I'm learning it.
I'm a YouTube guy. I never took TikTok seriously. But now I'm focused hard on learning it. There is a LOT of $$$ potential.
I love to learn. It's how we stay young. I'm 61, and getting younger every day. Except for my hair.
Keep learning ya'll!
