🐙Kansai-ben VS 🗼Standard Japanese 🗣️
Did you know there are dialects in Japanese?
One of the most famous ones is Kansai-ben! I’m from Osaka, so I speak Kansai dialect.
But do you know what makes Kansai-ben different from standard Japanese?
Actually, the intonation and expressions are quite different!
👄 Examples:
[Standard Japanese] Hontou? (Really?)
[Kansai-ben] Honma ni?
[Standard Japanese] Dame da yo (Don’t do that)
[Kansai-ben] Akan de
[Standard Japanese] Omoshiroi (Funny)
[Kansai-ben] Omoroi yan
To be honest, Kansai-ben sometimes sounds strong, but I think it’s really cool ⭐️
