Artists are taught to observe.
Great artists also learn to invert.
Turn the canvas upside down.
Reverse the color palette~!
Work from dark to light instead of light to dark~
Start with subtraction instead of addition.
Ask what happens if the focal point isn’t where you first imagined it~
Inverting your process can reveal habits you didn’t know you had~ and possibilities you never would have found otherwise.
This week’s challenge:
Choose one part of your creative process and intentionally turn it upside down~
Then ask yourself:
What did inverting your approach reveal that your usual process hides?
