THE ART OF THE SLOW BUILD
Here's what I believe: writing isn’t a race, and it certainly shouldn't feel like a chore. It’s a process of becoming grounded. The "how" of great writing—whether you’re crafting a novel, a song, or a travel piece — comes down to one thing: intentionality. It’s about moving away from "rushed" and "forced" prose and toward a mindful practice.
I see this constantly in my food writing work. You don't describe the whole banquet; you describe the way the steam from a single dish carries a specific memory. When you master that one well-noticed detail, your writing doesn’t just improve—it deepens.
I'm curious: what are you working on? Share a few lines in the comments — I'll respond, if you like.
