Weekly Discipleship Training (12.22.25)
Theme: Surrender Over Comfort
This Week's Truth
"If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me." —Luke 9:23
You've been baptizing your preferences as convictions. What you "feel led" to do is often just what you want to do. What "doesn't feel right" is usually exactly what God is asking. Oswald Chambers said, "The remarkable thing about God is that when you fear God, you fear nothing else, whereas if you do not fear God, you fear everything else."
Your discipleship has been too convenient.
Daily Reading & Action Plan:
MONDAY: Read Mark 8:34-38
Action: Identify one area where you're protecting yourself from obedience. Name it. Pray: "Jesus, I surrender [specific thing]. Whatever the cost, I will obey."
TUESDAY: Read 2 Corinthians 6:1-2
Action: What have you been putting off? Confession? A hard conversation? Breaking off something? Do it today. Not tomorrow. Today.
WEDNESDAY: Read Psalm 32:1-5
Action: Confess your secret sin to one trusted person. Call them. Meet them. Say: "I need to confess something I've been hiding..." No minimizing. Just truth.
THURSDAY: Read Matthew 6:24
Action: List your "second masters" (approval, comfort, control, money). Circle the strongest one. Destroy something connected to it today. Delete the app. End the relationship. Cancel the subscription.
FRIDAY: Read James 5:16
Action: Ask someone to hold you accountable. Text them: "I'm serious about holiness. Would you meet with me weekly to pray and ask hard questions?" Schedule it today.
SATURDAY: Read Jeremiah 17:9-10
Action: Identify one area where you've been "waiting to feel ready." Obey today regardless of feelings. Forgive. Serve. Give. Confront. Break the habit.
SUNDAY: Read 1 Corinthians 10:13
Action: Stop saying your struggle is unique. God has already provided your way of escape. Take it today. The accountability you've avoided. The boundary you've refused. The help you've been too proud to seek.
This Week's Question
Are you following Jesus, or managing Him?
Discipleship isn't aspiring to be better—it's obeying right now.
Stop planning. Start acting.Stop reading. Start doing.
This is the cost. Will you pay it?
