Parenting an adopted child often requires a different skillset than parenting a biological child. The natural bonds formed through nurturing care in early childhood are often absent for adoptive children, setting them up for attachment and connection difficulties. In this community, we're focusing on solution-oriented adoptive parenting; striving to draw closer; creating meaningful connection with our children through parenting techniques that speak love loud and clear. Rather than punitive measures, we focus on setting boundaries and limits, developing good disciplines, and letting natural consequences do the teaching. This is a space for adoptive parents to come together, crowdsourcing ideas for supporting difficult to navigate behaviors.
