Pathological Empathy 🤔
The most dangerous manipulation isn't cold. It is warm. We are trained to fear the bully. Nobody prepared us for the person who weaponizes compassion.
Pathological Empathy is what happens when your genuine care for others gets systematically exploited — not always by cruel people, but by those who have learned that victimhood is leverage.
The most empathetic people are most vulnerable, not despite their compassion, but because of it. Defending yourself against warmth is the hardest thing to do without feeling like a monster.
