Sometimes, understanding something is exactly what you need. A concept clicks, a penny drops, and something shifts. That has its place, and I’ll never take it away from you.
But here’s what I’ve learned, in myself and in years of this work: most of the time, understanding it in your head isn’t enough.
You can know, intellectually, that you don’t need to snap. You can understand your triggers perfectly. And then someone uses that tone, and you react anyway, before a single thought arrives. Because reactivity doesn’t live in your thinking mind. It lives in your body, your nervous system, your wiring.
So knowing isn’t the same as changing. To actually shift a pattern, you have to understand it in your body. You have to experience it, again and again, until the new response becomes automatic. Until staying grounded isn’t something you remember to do, it’s just what your body does now.
That’s what our weekly challenges are for. Not more information. Practice. Small, repeated, felt experiences that teach your nervous system a new way of being, from the inside.
We start tomorrow, Sunday. I’ll bring you the very first one.
Come as you are, Explorers. This is where it gets real. 🤍
