Welcome. I'm Eric — and I built this community because I've seen this pattern before.
I spent my career in construction technology and enterprise finance. I was deploying virtual cards for AP automation before anyone my age knew what a P-card was. I built my reputation on enterprise software sales, AP and P2P workflow optimization, and helping companies modernize how they move money. I watched an entire industry shift from paper checks to digital payments — and the professionals who moved first built careers that late adopters are still chasing.
AI infrastructure is that same inflection point. Most professionals are renting AI through subscriptions and APIs without understanding what they're paying for or what they're giving up. The Sovereign AI Society exists to change that — helping business professionals own their AI infrastructure, understand what to run locally, what to use in the cloud, and make that decision with confidence.
Here's how to get the most out of this place:
STEP 1: Introduce yourself
Drop a comment below with:
- Your name and what you do
- - Your current experience with AI (beginner, intermediate, power user)
- - What brought you here (privacy concerns? cost savings? curiosity? building a service?)
- - Your hardware situation (what are you working with right now?)
The community is only as strong as the people in it. Your intro helps us help you.
STEP 2: Understand the structure
The Sovereign AI Society is built around five pillars:
- HARDWARE FOUNDATION — Understanding the chips, GPUs, SSDs, and memory that make local AI possible
- 2. YOUR FIRST LOCAL STACK — Hands-on setup from zero to running inference
- 3. AI FOR YOUR BUSINESS — Applying local AI to real workflows (finance, docs, operations)
- 4. THE ENTERPRISE PLAY — Packaging and selling local AI as a professional service
- 5. ADVANCED OPTIMIZATION — Multi-GPU, fine-tuning, RAG, agentic workflows
Start with Module 1 if you're new. Jump to Module 3 if you already have hardware running.
STEP 3: Show up live
Our weekly events are where the real value lives:
- Hardware Q&A (weekly) — Bring your build questions, budget constraints, and optimization challenges
- - Deploy Day (monthly) — Community challenge to deploy a new AI use case together
- - LinkedIn Workshop (bi-weekly) — Review and optimize your professional content
- - Guest Expert Sessions (monthly) — Hardware engineers, model developers, and enterprise leaders
Check the calendar for upcoming sessions.
STEP 4: Earn your rank
The leaderboard isn't decoration. Points are earned by:
- Introducing yourself (your first points)
- - Sharing your hardware builds and benchmarks
- - Helping other members solve problems
- - Posting wins and use cases
- - Attending live events
- - Deploying skills from the marketplace
The most engaged members get recognized, featured, and invited to exclusive sessions.
STEP 5: Know the culture
CAUSE: We exist to help professionals take informed control of their AI infrastructure — knowing what to run locally, when to leverage the cloud, and how to make that decision based on data, not hype.
WHAT'S REWARDED:
- Sharing your hardware builds and benchmarks (even ugly first attempts)
- - Helping other members solve problems
- - Posting wins — first inference, first business workflow, first client deployment
- - Asking questions (there are no dumb questions about hardware)
- - Engaging in live sessions
WHAT'S NOT TOLERATED:
- Self-promotion or pitching your services in threads
- - Spam or low-effort comments
- - Gatekeeping knowledge or being dismissive of beginners
- - Negativity toward other members' setups or budgets
- - Sharing pirated models or software
STEP 6: Explore the Skills Marketplace
Head to #skills-marketplace to browse the SKILL.MD governed library — 124 curated AI workflow skills organized into 8 packs (Awareness, Accounting, Operator, DevOps, Data, Integration, Automation, Intelligence). Every skill goes through our Firmament validation pipeline before it reaches you. No unverified open-source risk. Core and Inner Circle members get full deployment access and weekly Skill Drops. STEP 7: Grab your quick win
Don't just read — do something in your first 24 hours:
- Never run a local model before? Open your terminal and run: ollama pull llama3.1:8b then ollama run llama3.1:8b — you'll have a private AI chatbot running in under 10 minutes.
- - Already running models? Post your current setup specs in #hardware-lab and let the community help you optimize.
- - Here for the business side? Jump to #finance-accounting-ai and tell us what workflows you want to automate.
- - Want to deploy a governed workflow? Browse #skills-marketplace and pick a Certified skill from the Awareness Pack — it's the starter pack by design.
The people who take action in their first 48 hours are the ones who get 10x the value. Don't wait.
Welcome to The Sovereign AI Society.
Your AI. Your infrastructure. Your rules.
— Eric
