Welcome to the Hardware Lab — Post Your Builds, Benchmarks, and Questions
This is where the infrastructure gets real.
The Hardware Lab is for everything physical — the machines, GPUs, memory, storage, and configurations that make local AI possible. Think of this as the garage where we build.
What belongs here:
→ Build posts — share your setup with specs, photos, and what you're running on it
→ Benchmarks — tokens/sec, VRAM utilization, power draw, thermals
→ Buying decisions — "I have $X budget, what should I get?" (we love these)
→ Troubleshooting — something not performing? Post your specs and symptoms
→ Upgrades — before/after comparisons when you add RAM, swap a GPU, or change configs
What makes a great Hardware Lab post:
  1. Be specific. "My computer is slow" doesn't help. "Getting 12 tok/s on Llama 3.1 8B Q4_K_M with RTX 4060 Ti 16GB, 32GB DDR5" — that helps everyone.
  2. 2. Include your OS and inference engine (Ollama, llama.cpp, vLLM, etc.)
  3. 3. Share what you've already tried before asking for help
There's no minimum budget to participate. A $500 setup that's running well is just as valuable as a $5,000 build. The goal is informed decisions at every price point.
Post your current rig below — even if it's just a laptop. That's your starting line.
