Adapting to changes in the digital landscape…
Last year digital marketing was at the top of the Forbes list for best paying “jobs” of 2024…
But if you watch and study top creators you will see that high ticket is getting harder and harder to sell.
Why?
A number of reasons.
1️⃣ The economy. On a recent trip to the grocery store
, I saw that a dozen eggs cost over $7!!! As a family of 5 with three growing and active children, it’s tough to keep the grocery budget under $400 a week. Life is expensive. 80% of Americans don’t have $1,000 in an emergency fund in the event that a car breaks down…so no wonder people aren’t dropping $1k on courses.
2️⃣ Let’s be honest. Most of the people buying courses aren’t new to buying courses. They have 3, 4, 5, or more - some they’ve never even opened, some they still owe money to Klarna. People are skeptical about spending more on courses when the results haven’t manifested (which they SHOULD be, in my opinion).
3️⃣ Because there are WAY too many options. Scroll on Instagram for thirty seconds and you’ll be bombarded by at least 20 different “opportunities “ There’s so many options, people get analysis paralysis. And the marketing is so clever it makes you feel like this shiny object is truly your ticket to freedom.
But there are some HARD truths that few are teaching, and they’re are the exact reason why 99% of people who try to succeed at online business fail.
Let me shed some light…
FACT. Trying to make sales is a terrible strategy for beginners. You have no credibility, no audience, you haven’t given people a reason to trust you or hand over their hard earned money. You need to put in the work of audience building and nurturing. And that takes TIME.
People want to microwave success, but it happens in a slow cooker. It happens because people trust you. You can’t buy trust. You can’t shortcut the process, and without taking the time to build it, you’ll never succeed long term. If you’re not willing to put in the time it takes to build trust, I recommend you stop trying to build a business and go get a job. You’re wasting your time.
FACT. A lot of people aren’t giving you the whole truth. Case in point. When I first started my faceless journey on Instagram it FLOPPED! I made 145 reels (that took me forever to make btw) and didn’t get a single lead. I started studying successful creators and noticed at that time that everyone who was successful on IG seemed to have UBC. I found the person on IG who showed screenshots of the most insane earnings and bought from her because she said I would get “mentorship” … I will spare the details but long story short I got GHOSTED and dropped into a SKOOL community with outdated pdf’s that she called “mentoring”… I learned an important lesson though. One of her pdfs shared her ads strategy. Yep - ads. Nowhere on her IG did she EVER once say she ran ads to make that kind of money. When I asked her how much she was spending on ads she said about $200 a day!!! Whaaaat!!! So there is gross and there is net. And there is a BIG difference! Be skeptical of people when their only strategy is sharing how much money they make. Think about it — how would you be able to succeed with that strategy if you had not made money like that? I do think sharing results can be very inspiring when done with integrity. But it gives false hope to people if you do it in a misleading way.
LAST FACT: You have to adapt to the quickly changing digital landscape! What’s working now? LOW TICKET. Can high ticket still sell? 100%! But you can’t LEAD with it. You’re just going to scare people away.
