A Calm Script for When Things Feel Hard
When emotions are running high — for you or your child — it can be hard to find words that don’t escalate the moment.
You can use or adapt any of these:
“It’s okay to feel like this.”
“We can slow this down.”
“Nothing’s gone wrong — this is just hard right now.”
“Let’s pause and take a breath together.”
This isn’t about fixing the moment. It's about choosing words that reduce pressure and support regulation — including your own.
Use what fits your family, and leave the rest.
