Precision Mind Deep reflection Questions
  1. When your mind begins to spiral, what is the exact moment you lose control—what thought triggers it, and are you actually trying to solve something real, or are you trying to escape uncertainty by overthinking it? — Type your response in the comments, I’d love to read about everyone’s experiences.
This is my response.
When my mind begins to spiral, the exact moment when I lose it is when I feel like I lost complete control over the situation and environment.
The thoughts that trigger vary depending on the scenario. An example would be, let’s say I’m in a relationship and I’m not being seen or heard nor innerstood. I then start to feel like I don’t matter and then I try to over explain to get my person to see my perspective and most of the time my perspective won’t be met. That’s okay. It needs to be respected and replied to with respect but it doesn’t need to be innerstood.
In my head I’m trying to solve a disconnect between me and my partner so that we remain on the same team because it’s not her against me or me against her. It’s us against the problem. Getting us back to a baseline so that my body and mind doesn’t have to feel like it’s in fight or flight mode.
I don’t think I’m trying to escape uncertainly so much as I’m actually trying to gain clarity with the current situation so that her and I have both our needs met in the situation and both end the conversation either leveled out or happy with our outcome.
