How I booked out my show and received 22 guest invitations
suggested I share how I made this happen so hereโ€™s what I did โ€ฆ.
TO BOOK GUESTS FOR FTBY
I did the following things to book out my show for the whole of the year including a waitlist for the first season Iโ€™m planning for 2024:
1๏ธโƒฃ I showed up! - I have been building real relationships with members of this community and two others on FB by genuinely helping people and engaging with value driven replies. Being INTERESTED rather than just INTERESTING doesnโ€™t go unnoticed.
2๏ธโƒฃ I was clear in my requests - I put thought into what type of guests I want, who my audience what topics would resonate with them. Then I crafted a post which clearly articulated those things and share it with my request for guests.
3๏ธโƒฃ I replied to everyone! - I didnโ€™t ignore anyone who showed interest. I didnโ€™t accept them all but I showed appreciation for their comments. For some people I let know that they werenโ€™t a fit for me but I would recommend them to others (like you guys!) if I thought they would be. Some people I have had a 20mins pre interview chat with and some I just booked straight up.
4๏ธโƒฃ I created a guest application form - I created a simple document using Google forms (FREE!) so that when I accepted a guest they could provide me with the things I need to plan my show with them. Things like:
  • their bio
  • their headshots
  • their social links
  • their website and any offered they want to pitch
  • their audio set up so I know we will get great sound quality
5๏ธโƒฃ I kept an eye on other posts - sometimes I come across people wanting to be a guest and I will invite them to apply OR I see people commenting on others posts and get involved in the conversation so I can invite them to mine.
TO GET BOOKED AS A GUEST
Many of the things I did to get guests on my show, I also did to get booked. These few differences have me being booked quickly. Iโ€™ve booked 20 guests spots in the last 10 days with the speaker doc attached below โฌ‡๏ธ and doing these things:
1๏ธโƒฃ I briefly explained who I am and what I do using my unique positioning statement (if you donโ€™t have one then I recommend brainstorming your own). Then I posted that with my speaker doc in the two groups Iโ€™ve been interacting in.
2๏ธโƒฃ I replied to everyone who showed interest and connected with them in messenger or through their requested contact forms etc. I lead this conversation with how I could provide value for their show instead of what I could gain.
3๏ธโƒฃ Where possible I made an effort to listen to the trailer of their show before applying to make sure that they are what Iโ€™m looking for AND so I could tell them what I liked about their show and how I can add to the conversation with their audience.
4๏ธโƒฃ I put together a media file in Google drive and shared the link with them in messenger or email so they can see that Iโ€™m a professional and they can expect that level of quality and reliability from me as a guest. Hereโ€™s my file if you want to see what Iโ€™ve done https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1bTbvEAOqrU-8xuoN7hOAm2PHk2dFJLwM
SO! As you can see Iโ€™ve been busy busy ๐Ÿคช but itโ€™s been SO worth it. Not only have I booked out my show and will have it a recorded by the end of September, I have built my credibility and soon my authority when these shows are shared by my guests. On top of that I expect to receive more referrals from these people because of their experience. (Iโ€™ve already had two and been invited back twice!)
Sometimes you just have to go for it and learn from what works ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ Hope you found this helpful guys๐Ÿค—
