If you’re new to waxing and feel like it takes forever or you second-guess every step, this is for you.
Here are 5 common mistakes I see beginner waxers make that slow down your services and your confidence:
- Over-thinking every pull
Hesitation causes discomfort for your client and stress for you. Confidence comes from repetition — not perfection.
2. Poor sectioning
Covering to large an area = messy pulls, breakage, and extra clean-up time.
3. Rushing your prep
Skipping proper cleansing, oiling, or powdering (if needed) leads to hair breakage and re-waxing (which costs you time). Learning this step is how I reduced my waxing time considerably.
4. Incorrect body positioning
If your body is uncomfortable, your service will be slow and you will be in pain. I learned proper body positioning as a Licensed Massage Therapist. Ergonomics matter more than you think.
5. No consistent system
Speed doesn’t come from moving faster — it comes from following the same steps every single time. You’re building consistency so you done need to think or 2nd guess yourself.
✨ The good news?
All of this is teachable. Speed and confidence come with the right foundation and hands-on guidance.
