Why do people laugh?
It’s actually simpler than you think.
👉 Laughter happens when the brain recognizes… and resolves a disruption.
You set a pattern and break the pattern. Their brain catches up.
👉 That moment = the laugh.
And here’s why this matters…
If a joke doesn’t work, it’s usually not because: ❌ you’re not funny
It’s because:
👉 there was no surprise or
👉 it didn’t make sense
