preparatory year
Hello,
I would like to ask you about an important point regarding the admission requirements at the University of Oxford. I watched a YouTube video explaining the steps and requirements for admission, and it mentioned that one of the key stages is completing a recognized preparatory year in the UK. Does this mean that the preparatory year is considered part of what is known as a “gap year”?
I also want to know, is it mandatory to complete this preparatory year, or are there other alternatives?
I am currently set to receive my baccalaureate certificate in July 2026, which means I won’t be able to apply in October 2025, as the results for the first semester of my final year of high school will not be available yet. Does this affect my ability to apply to the university in 2026?
I would appreciate your clarification on these points.
