💡 Ask Jailyn: Shoulder Flexibility Tip 🙆🏽‍♀️
Did you know flexibility is joint-specific?
Just because you’re flexible in your hips doesn’t automatically mean your shoulders will move the same way. Every joint has its own mobility, strength, and movement patterns.
That’s why we train the shoulders separately! Strong, mobile shoulders can help improve posture, reduce stiffness from sitting, make overhead movements easier, and support everything from reaching a shelf to flowing through yoga poses.
🎯 Today’s Tip: Don’t force range… earn it.
As you move through shoulder stretches and mobility exercises, focus on keeping your ribs down and your core lightly engaged. If your lower back starts arching to “help” the movement, you’ve probably gone beyond your current shoulder range.
Think:
✅ Belly button gently toward your spine
✅ Ribs stacked over hips
✅ Move with control, not momentum
Your shoulders will thank you later. 🙌
