Hello everyone! My name is Alex Rodriguez and I’m from Chicago, IL. I am 35 years old and the last 6 months of my life have been a roller coaster. Stress and burnout likely caused a hormone imbalance. I struggled with anxiety and insomnia since January. Doctors were not listening. Even my Obgyn did not listen when I told her my period was lasting for 3 weeks. What’s ironic is the first medical professional who listened to me was my optometrist. I was concerned about floaters in my vision due to lack of sleep. She knew I needed help. I went back to my doctor and a large fibroid on my uterus was detected. I had surgery to remove the fibroid which may have contributed to my symptoms. After starting antidepressants and therapy I’m feeling so much better. It has only been three months but I am on a journey of healing and having the tools to manage the stresses of life. I’ve learned that advocating for myself is so important and hormones play a huge role in wellness. Happy to be here with you all ❤️
